Ban Lee Siang

Second food which you must eat in Malacca, Satey Celup. And there is only two places worth mentioning (which I visited before and the only one I know). One of it was Capitol and the other is Ban Lee Siang. We had decided to visit Ban Lee Siang for this trip.
We got over quite early but there were already a lot of people sitting in front of the stall. So we found a table at the back of the restaurant. Nice~!
Once seated QQ had ordered 4 plates of bread. Too much??!! Definitely. LOL!! The sauce was freshly prepared when we arrived. So I assumed we are the first to dip our food into it. Good thing about arriving early.
So here are some of the food which we had ordered that day. So at the end we managed to eat close to 200 sticks. Not that much actually as one of my friend from Malacca previously could eat close to 60 sticks alone. Yes, I am not shitting you in here. LOL!! Normal stick cost RM0.50 while the red stick cost RM0.60. Total damage plus a mountain of drinks amounted to RM14/head (9 pax).

Jonker Dessert - The Museum Cafe

Sorry for the late update on my food entry but I was really busy with both my work and hectic weekends. Let's get back to the menu now. Last weekend I was so excited as me and my group of friends from gym had decided to go for our annual makan trip down Melaka. So here's one of the shop which we found something good to eat. The place is located along Jonker Street and the name is Jonker Dessert.
This is the one of the few stalls inside this shop selling Cendol.
This is the stall which we ordered the Curry Laksa and also my Dried Pork Noodle. I don't really fancy curry laksa that much but from the feedback from my girl, it's not bad. But the noodle do taste like curry noodle more than laksa for her. (RM3.50)
What is one of the food that you can't miss when you're in Malacca? Cendol and in this case, Baba Cendol. The special thing bout this cendol is the syrup they used. It's Gula Melaka. So it's really sweet and tasty. (RM 1.70)
Last but not least my dried pork noodle. To my surprised it wasn't that bad. I didn't have high hope on it as the place wasn't famous for any of their noodle. But surprisingly it's quite good and they even added extra minced pork for me without any extra payment. Cool~! (RM3.50)

Sensju Sushi

It's Saturday night and we're deciding where to have our dinner before our show in Pyramid. At the end we decided to eat at this new place just below the cinema called Sensju Sushi. It's previously location was occupied by Genki Sushi apparently. Exterior deco looks nice so we take a look at the menu and heads on in. As usual the place have a kentai belt for the customers to order some sushi. But for this place, their kentai belt seemed a bit pathetic as there wasn't much choices around. Nevertheless we managed to grab some sushi before our main dish is out.
LP and BQ had ordered their soft shell crab roll which looks really nice. They have a lot of variety of rolls to choose from ranging from the normal California to mantis prawn. (RM6.00/roll)
As for me, I had ordered their Inaniwa Udon with Tori Ankake. It's typically cold udon and mushroom dipping. There's mushroom and chicken in the sauce. Not bad as the udon was really soft and tangy. But it was too little for my appetite. (RM19.90)The place do served some really exquisite dishes which ranges from spider cheese maki, charcoal udon, baby abalone salad and their wahyu beef directly flown in from Australia. The place are not selling are normal commercial type sushi like Genki or Sushi King. But rather more on premium dishes for those who really appreciate some fresh high quality food. So on the pricing of the food, it's definitely higher than the one that we normally eat.
I don't dare to say that it will not attract lots of patrons but maybe not so many people do appreciate the quality of the dish when they saw the price that they are paying. But they will be people who like it here because it's different and all. People will visit the place out of curiosity as us but a return visit? Well that depends. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

BBQ Chicken

This whole place started in September 1995 and now it has grown to be the No.1 franchise brand in Korea. The place understand the importance and realizes obligation of providing customers with not just delicious meal but also healthy meal too. The place created Olive Luxury Chicken and was the first to use only 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil imported from Spain.
The place is located at the Ground floor of 1Utama new wing. The place served burgers & breads, olive, barbeque, beef and fish. I had lunch over with some of my friends one find afternoon. So we had opted for the set lunch which consists of the a main dish, soup, drink and single scoop of ice cream.
So here is the mushroom soup as the appetizer. Not bad as there's a lot of tiny sliced mushroom in the soup. Typical mushroom soup straight from the can I assume.
I had ordered their Jerk BBQ Chicken. Which was chef recommendation. It's whole chicken leg cooked over charcoal fire with no additional oil used then spread with authentic korean style barbeque sauce made of more than 20 natural seasonings and red pepper grain giving it a little tinge of spiciness. It comes complete with golden fries and coleslaw. This might be the best dish of the three we ate that day. But sadly it was too small for me. (RM14.50)
This is the Fish Cutlet set. Which typically golden fried fillet of fish complete with golden fries and coleslaw. Sadly, my friend told me that the fish was rotten. And I pray she doesn't have a bad stomach the next day after eating this. (RM12.90)
Last but not least, Hot Hot Drum which is also one of the chef's recommendation. Which claimed to be extra spicy. It's hot red pepper grain and paste sauce generously spread over crispy and juicy chicken. Complete with golden fries and coleslaw. This is not bad and it's not to say that spicy but just alright (RM13.70).

So what do I think of the place? Might consider to go back but becareful what I would order the next time. It's still new and people need time to know bout this place. They have already a few branches in Taipan and also Desa Park City and Sri Hartamas to name a few. (Rating: 3.5 out of 5.0)

Ah Loy Curry Noodle - OUG Garden

I had been waiting to blog bout this place for quite some time but I don't seemed to have the time. It's a place located behind Steven Corner. Opposite the petrol station. You can't miss it actually. The place is called Ah Loy Curry Noodle. It has been operating for many of years from Penang. Yes, it's authentic Penang curry noodle, or what they claimed.
The boss is always there and will come over to serve you if he's free. So what do they served other than curry noodle. Well they have Fried Minced Meat (Yong Tau Foo). It's freshly fried and displayed on the tray for you to pick. I had picked a few which I normally ordered. The price for their side dishes ranges from 60 to 90cents per piece. Quite pricey I guess. For the main dish, I had ordered their Curry Noodle minus the bean sprout. There's chicken and some fried bean curd in it. I like it cause the curry is thick and a tit spicy. Just the way I like my curry. The portion was quite large even for a normal size.

The placed also served economy noodles and chee cheong fun. The place will mostly be packed during lunch hour. It's air conditioned thank god. So do drop by this place and try it out if you like curry noodle. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
