Food Foundry @ Happy Mansion

It was my second visit to this place. And this time around I went over with Romiko and also LP. I had been thinking of where to go for dinner and the place pop up my head when the girls wanted to eat some pasta. I had tried their Chili Garlic Aglio Olio Prawn on my last visit. One thing special or different bout this place is that u need to ask for the type of pasta that they are serving that day. As they served different type of pasta each day. I was quite lucky that night as they had fettuccine which is my favourite with cabonara.

Yup~! It's Fettuccine Cabonara with Chicken and Mushroom for me. LP ordered the same and Romiko had ordered their Chicken Cordon Bleu. Let's get back to the pasta. The portion is large. Which is just right for me. LP was quite startle by the portion when it arrived. haha~ But she did finished it up till the very end. hahaha~! It was very creamy and they had added a lot of cheese and olive oil into it. Dun get me wrong, it might be creamy and oily but it's just nice for me. Fattening it might be, but that's cabonara for me. haha~ The price is quite reasonable also, RM 13.90.

As for the Chicken Cordon Bleu, it comes with a boneless chicken breast rolled with cheddar cheese and ham. And topped with cheesy mushroom sauce. But the portion is abit little for me. The one that I had in Secret Recipe is bigger. But the presentation of the food is really nice. There is also a mash potato and also salad at the side which is a nice touch. LP & me had ordered Peach Tea which we both really like ... haha~ coincidence la : ) Although it's pre-prepared but still it's very nice. Will I come back? Yes, definitely. I heard from another blog that recon the Crème Brule and apple crumble. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0)

My Bday Celebration Cum Chop Goh Mei

Yes~! I know it's been 1 week since my bday but I forgot to blog this in as I had over used my photo upload for the month. hehe~! So here it goes. My family had prepared some food. Well a lot of food for my bday and also Chop Goh Mei. My bad fall on the same day as Chop Goh Mei this year. Well it's easy to remember at least. And hitting two birds with one stone too. haha~ So the venue is my aunt's place @ Kuchai Lama with my cousins and also brother and sister in law. Plus my ever so cute niece, Chloe.

My mom had earlier cooked my favourite dish which is the sambal belacan. Damn it's nice and it's EXTRA spicy this time around. haha~! I ate almost quarter of it, this time around. Damn it's nice~!!!!

This is the spicy fried chicken that my mom had prepared. Yummy!!

And what is a banquet without some vegetable. It's plain and simple. No added preservative but just steamed with soya sauce. Just like home made. Well it's home made in this case.

This is my brother's favourite. The Chilly and also lady finger stuffed with pork's meat. I dun even touch a single one.

This is the seafood roll which my aunt like to prepared each time we had dinner over. It's nice and filling.

No need to guess what is the above dish. haha~ Steamed White Chicken. Like mountain I tell u.

This is the roasted duck that my mom had earlier bought. Yes we dun roast the duck ourselves. Well who does. It's so tedious.

This is one of my mom best dishes also. Yummy is all I can say. But not too much fat in the pork. Cause all the at pork had been sold out earlier. Sad case. But nevertheless, I like it.

This is not the full range of food which was prepared that night. After I had took this pic and sat down to eat. My uncle had dishes out 2 - 3 more dishes from the kitchen. Damn~! There is so much chicken in the menu that night that I couldn't decide which one to eat. hahaha~! :) Anyway! Thnx again u all for celebrating my Bday for me~! Love yer all !!! God bless my families and frens! : )

My Bday @ Dine Out in USJ 11

It's Friday night and the some members from FF had planned for Jac & my bday dinner cum Loh Sang session @ Dine Out in USJ 11. Thanx again for organizing the dinner. The members who make it for the dinner that night includes, Me, Romiko, Terence, Jacque, Wanie, Mark, Ann Jet, Lea, TJ, Jason, Cindy, Aaron, Wei Tong and wife. Actually that night was my bday and also Jacque too. And they tot what they heck, we include the Loh Sang together. haha~! Cool~! So Aaron had ordered the CNY set which consist of Loh Sang, Shark Fin, Steam Fish, Sweet n Sour Prawn, Glutinous Rice, Mushroom with alot of mix vegetable and desert. The Loh Sang was nice as our table finished the whole plate. Hungry again I guess.

The crab meat portion was so big and u can really eat it and not like the one that we normally ate outside which is all minced. I ate around 4 rounds.

The prawn was also OK. Just nice but nothing that special.

The mix veges with mushroom dish was something new for me. It tasted nice but I dun really into that dish.

The gluttonous rice was plain normal la... what can i say. It's rice.

The desert was quite nice. It's served cold. It's like pandan inside. The one that we eat during mooncake. Forgot what it's call.

The night ended with everyone standing in the street doing nothing but talking so I whoop out my tripod and took a final pic of the whole bunch.

Oh yes, the cake. It was raspberry is it? It's nice. I brought the remaining home and finsihed it up on Sunday. haha~ Yes~! It was that nice. For those who make it that night, thnx alot. And for those who planned for the night, appreciate the good gesture. Hopefully we can do it again next year. (Rating : 3.5 out of 5.0)

Bar.B.Q Plaza @ Jusco Bkt. Tinggi

It was my 3rd visit to Bar B.Q Plaza but this time around it was at Jusco Bkt Tinggi. I was looking for a place to take my girl for dinner. So she choose this place and it was really a good choice. My two previous visit was very pleasant and also good. So that's why I am going back for 3rd round. We were really hungry that night as we had save up our tummy for a good big dinner. So we arrived around 7.30pm and the place was almost full that night. So we were seated next to the entrance.

We had browse through the menu and selected the Deluxe Supreme set which is suitable for 2 people. Initially we had selected the Family Deluxe Supreme set but the waiter had reminded us that the set was for 3-4 pax. But the price is onli RM3 different. And we're hungry, so we tot that we can finished it. And luckily we had listened to the waiter, because at the end of the dinner we can't even finished the veges on the set.

Than Chilled Mini Octopus. For those who like baby octopus, this is definitely a must order. It's chilled so either you like it or you gonna puke when you taste. I take my octopus raw and also fried. So it's good for me.

Served together with their Garlic Rice it's really delicious. This is also a must order. Don't take their normal plain rice. You must order their garlic rice. Trust me on this.

Their sauce is also very nice and appetizing. I had refilled twice for the whole dinner. hahaha~ The cold taste of the mini octopus was really mouth watering. The one that they served tonight more better than the one that I had on my 2nd visit. As this time around, the octopus is just right and not that frozen. But dun eat it at the end of the dish as u might get all disgusted by it's sauce which is very strong. So take it as an appetizer.

Later the fried bacon rolls. It's hot and also juicy. Recommended to those who like bacon. hehe~! It's really a filling side dish and also nice to eat on it's own.

For the fried dumpling, it's quite normal but again it's freshly served and all crunchy and juicy. Yummy~! We had also ordered the "bottomless" green tea to wash down all our foods. hehe~! The damage for the whole meal was around RM 77. Just nice and economical~!!! So for those who like BBQ, I highly recommend this place. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0)

Damansara Village @ Damansara Jaya

It's our 2nd annual dinner gathering and this time around it's held at Damansara Village @ Damansara Jaya. I had picked the place as we all like steamboat that much and we had tried the steamboat at Cheras so many times. So this time around I had choose the one in Damansara. Last year was in Sri Petaling (it's in my previous blog entry) seafood. So next year, we make it in KL la~! The participants for this year had increased as Jeff was able to make it this time around. Yeah!!!

So there were 11 of us and the time is 7.30pm. Surprisingly the one that we expect to be late was early and the one which is punctual was late. hahaha!!!! So we had ordered some satay to eat and also fried dumpling while waiting.

They had also served some steam roasted peanuts as starters. Nice!!! We finished the two plates. hehe~! We had ordered 2 sets of 5 pax set and also adding one of the pot with their famous Special Herbal Soup.

You can see from the picture that the soup consist of Kei Ci, Dong Qwai, Muk Yee, Cilantro, Ginger and also Chinese Rice Wine. For the details advantage of each ingredients, we can refer to the picture. And there is another picture showing the "correct" way to eat steamboat. hahaa!!! Yes! There is a SOP (standard operating procedure). Anyway, the set consists of the normal veges and fish balls.

They also had "live" prawns. Yes, the prawns is still jumping while it's on the plate and when we poured them down the pot!!! We had two fish and also some abalone slice. Oh ya ~!

We had Yee Sang also. But this time around the Salmon was all dried up and not fresh. So we just eat the whole lot without the Salmon. Wasted!!! They had gave us 2 pot one of the pot is added with the Special Herbal Soup while the other one is the standard herbal soup.

After a few round of prawns and also fish onto the Special Soup, the soup became so sweet and nice. We had too add so much soup in as we're sipping the soup really fast. Haha~!! The whole dinner only cost us around RM 35 per head including the satay and also drink and tax. Well it's cheap~! And also reasonable for me. It's something new and fresh. So for those who like Steamboat and wanted to try some other taste. Try this place out. (Rating : 3.8 out of 5.0)

Pantai Seafood @ Kayu Ara, Damansara

The FF members thought of coming out for makan before the New Year. Some sort of "Sau Kong" dinner la~ (all also looking for excuses to skip class and eat, lol) So I had organized the dinner @ Pantai Seafood in Kayu Ara, Damansara. I had been to this place for so many times but still I come back cause the food is nice and many food still need to be explored. haha~! So we ordered the Yee Sang for starter. We didn't took the set but ordered ala-carte. Ok lets go back to the dishes.

Then came the Japanese Snail. It's very nice but sad to say the dish is a bit cold. Maybe they forgot to send the dish over when it's ready. Anyway I recommend the dish to anyone who like snails .. hehe!~

Later is the Tau FuKang. Joanne asked for the dish and it's really nice. Well at that point most of the food that they served tasted nice as we're all very hungry.

Than the deer meet in onion, normal lo ... like the one that we eat outside also but also not bad. Could ordered if you like something other than chicken or pork meat.

The crab is nice as always but we almost can't finished but nothin to worry. We got Joanne and this time around with her friend Fong. So they wallop the rest of the crab.

The veges was really nice. Initially Sim had ordered Shu Miu in Belancan but Alex had ordered this instead. Yes, Shu Miu cooked in Belacan is a bit weird.

The best is the Mantis Prawn in Butter Milk~! There's no way we don't ordered this dish whenever we go for seafood. It's like our standard dish la ... well other than the crab. The place was all pack that night. I had initially booked for 11 people but at the end, 9 shown up. But they gave me a table for 15. So u can imagine how spacious the table is that night. There were a lot of people doing their office dinner that night and some even had their Yum Seng shout out in rhythm. Yes~! It's like their office slogan or something ... anyway it was really an enjoyable night. And thaks yer all for making it so successful~!!!! (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
