Satey Kajang Hj. Samuri @ PJ

I had always wanted to try out this branch of Hj. Samuri at Uptown Damansara. I had previously visited their main branch at Kajang town several time before. So after gym tonight I had suggested this place to my gym-mates and they all agreed to give it a try. The place was a full house when we arrived around 8.30pm. Business was really good I assume.

Once ordered, they placed this big bowl of peanut gravy to go with the satay. But there was not much peanut in the gravy tonight. But still it's alright in term of the taste.

They had separated the gravy and the chilly sauce so that those who doesn't like their gravy to be spicy can have the option not to add it in. The chilly paste is quite spicy and suit my taste too.

We had ordered some Ketupat and sliced cucumber to go with the satey. I had also ordered a bowl of onions to go with it. How can I eat satey with onions, right? (RM2.50)

So how many did we ordered? 4 of us (3 girls) had decided to go with 25 sticks of chicken and beef each. So a total of 50 sticks all together. It was a bit cold but it was alright. Surprisingly the beef was really lean and isn't too difficult to chew on. Chicken was alright and there were sufficient fat and lean ratio and also burned portion on each stick. My only comment is that it isn't that hot. (RM0.60/stick)

Other than Satay, they do served local fried rice. Place isn't that stuffy and smokey as I though it would be. It's a double-story shop lot but they didn't open the top floor for customers. I would recommend a cooling coconut to cleanse down all the spiciness and heat from the meat. It's a good place to have some light dinner or even supper with friends and family. It's located at the same row as HSBC bank. So it's not that hard to locate. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri - Kajang

My lunch today with my colleague in Kajang, where else but Hj. Samuri. We had went over Satey Malaysia last month and wanted to try out this one. It's not my first visit as I had visited this place a lot of times. The place wasn't that crowded during lunch hour. Upper level were closed and will only open during night hours.

First came the sauce. This is what I like bout this place. They had separated their sauce into two. For those who doesn't like spice in their sauce, you can opt not to add the sambal sauce (top right) into the normal peanut sauce (below left). But I like my sauce as spicy as they can get, so I had added a lot into it. I had also ordered their side dishes, cucumbers, ketupat and a lot of slice onions.

Here come the main course. I had ordered 10 sticks of Chicken, 5 sticks of beef and 5 sticks of lamb. Lamb was quite hard and the scent of raw lamb is still there. Beef was just alright but it's quite dry too. Chicken was alright. But not as much fat on the meat as I remembered. Maybe they are much more health conscience now. The whole meal cost me RM18 inclusive of drinks. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Restaurant Malaysia Ngok Lan Kajang Satay - Kajang City

As I am in Kajang after some site testing with my technician. So I had suggested to have lunch over there. What to eat? Either Nasi Briyani or Satay. My guy said up to me. So I choose Satay as I didn't have one for so long. So it's either Restaurant Malaysia or Hj. Samuri. Malaysia was nearer so I choose to eat there. The place is located opposite the police station (well sort of) and it's after the Shell Station (coming from Cheras). It's a corner lot, so you can't miss it.

I can't remembered how many times had I tried this place, but one thing for sure. I am back, so it should be good. haha~! Let's go to the food. I had ordered 20 sticks of chicken and 10 sticks of beef. The chicken & beef cost 60cents per stick. They also offers mutton which cost 80cents per stick and duck for 90cents per stick (if memory served me right).
The different between Hj. Samuri's satay and M'sia is the meat that they use. The latter use some non fat chicken meat while Hj. Samuri's meat consists of fats and also some over burn. Well actually I like some fats and over burn on my satay to be honest. What? That is how satay is to me. It can't be too skinny and all. OK, to put it simple, M'sia satay more healthy and Hj. Samuri's satay looks more like satay for me. haha~!!! Weird, I know.
Another important part of eating satay is the sauce. For me I like thick peanut sauce with a lot of spicy chilly belacan. But over here at M'sia their sauce wasn't that thick and not that hot. As for Hj. Samuri, it's all that I said above. You can even add as much spice into the sauce as you wanted. Sweet~! One weird thing that I found out is that, they charge the cucumber and onions separately as side dishes, 50cents each. Clense it all down with one cool glass of sugar cane. Perfect~!
Why do I still choose M'sia rather than Haji Samuri? Well, good question. Cause it's near for one and it's not that pack and the enviroment also cleaner and not that hot. haha~! See, enviroment is very important also. The whole meal cost me RM 22.50. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
