Low Maji Steamboat Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri

I had actually make reservation at Good Time Restaurant for tonight's steamboat buffet with my friends. But a changed of venue was made last minute as I had been recommended to another place. The place is called Low Maji which is located at the same row as CIMB Bank at Bandar Puteri. Luckily there wasn't much customers was around by the time I arrived. But it grew more and more as it get to dinner time. I heard some good review from friends who had been there and decided to give it a try myself. Since it's buffet style, so I can eat as much as I can (like I can eat that much anyway).
As usual, this kind of steamboat restaurant will provide you with different kind/type of soup. I was told that their herbal soup is a must try and also tom yam. They are famous for their Ma Lat or Spicy soup too. They have 3 levels of spiciness and my friend told me that the first level had already made his tongue numb. So I thought, what's the point of getting your tongue numb and can't taste the food later on even if you can take spicy food. So I had ordered their herbal (left) and tom yam (right).

 Herbal Soup
Their herbal soup doesn't look like the usual one which we had as it's not clear and see through type but rather milky white. I took a sip of it before we throw all the food into the soup and it tasted nice. As you can see there are a few of the herbal ingredients in the soup itself.

Tom Yam Soup
On the other side is the Tom Yam soup which look kinda normal to me at the surface. I took a sip of it and you can feel the spiciness starting to grow inside your mouth. WOW! This is one good Tom Yam soup. I can't imagine how is their spicy (level 1) if their Tom Yam is already this spicy.

 Beef, Pork & Mutton Strips
Didn't take much picture of the usual dishes on their tray as you had already seen most of them on any other steamboat restaurants. I think most of the people came for this, their Pork, Mutton and Beef strips. I was looking around the place for these as I saw the customers from behind us had a mountain of this on their table, and I do mean mountain. Asked the waiter and he quickly went to the back and refilled it back up.

It is nice to eat something hot on a cold night. I am starting to understand some of my friend who go and eat steamboat like 3 or 4 times a week now. But I prefer buffet style most of the time as I can take as much as I can. So what is the different between this restaurant and the others? Other then their crazy spicy soup? Well their herbal soup was nice to drink, but my friend prefer the Tom Yam more. I didn't even drink the Tom Yam that night as I am a bit reserve nowadays after my mild food poisoning episode 2 weeks back. So I try to control my spicy food intake. But my colleague did informed me that they sometime reluctant to replenish their meat and also prawns as a lot of our foreign friends from China took a mountain of them each time. I think the majority of customers in the place are from China that night. You can try it out yourself if you like spicy food and seafood. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
