Was out with my manager and he asked where to have lunch. Finally decided to have some fish head at Chan Sow Lin since we're passing by Sg. Besi heading to Kajang from KL center. Was looking around the area as both of us had not been to the shop for ages. So I turn ON my Garmin and search for the shop using the POI. Found one with the name Chan Sow Lin and the rest was history. This might not be the original under the big tree fish head but still it's worth mentioning.
Get seated and the boss straight away came over and asked how do we want our fish head to be. Looked around and saw that there was at least one fish head on each table. There's even one with two fish head with only two person eating. He recommended their specialty steamed sauce and within minutes (5minutes maybe) the fish head arrives. It's not that large but just enough for both of us to have a taste of it. The sauce was really something. Bit of salty and spicy with lots of parsley and slices chillies in it. Fish is really fresh from the soft meat that we sink our teeth into.
Had to have my favourite vegetable to go with the rice. So ordered their Yau Mak which is alright and not too oily.
The boss had recommended a few dishes but we had go with the Yong Tau Foo as there was just the two of us and the other dishes seemed a bit too much for us. The Yong Tau Foo are hand made by themselves and worth trying out. This is a small portion just for two pax. Fresh and tasty is what I can say.
The restaurant is divided into two part with one side air condition and the other non, for smokers. You have to pay first for the drinks as it's from different establishment. Place is clean and not too crowded during lunch hour. Food are served fast and fresh. Price is reasonable as for all that above, it's just RM32. You can find a lot of fish head restaurants or stall around Chan Sow Lin as it's fame for it but not many are as good as the original one. There's one called F4 Fish Head at USJ 1 area which is worth mentioning too. Located at the factory area with some really good dishes. Will try to go over again and post a blog bout the place in the future. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
