Burger Bakar Kaw Kaw @ Puchong Utama

I know about this place from an article from a local newspaper few weeks back. Search around the net for the exact location and the rest is history. The place boost of their grilled burger or we local called it Kaw Kaw Burger Bakar. The idea came from two partners namely Nas & Nini. You can check out their FB page HERE. The first stall is located over at Seksyen 2 Wangsa Maju and the one I'd visited would be the second located over at Puchong Utama. I heard that customers lined up for hours to taste the burger. Queuing up for hours for a local burger? For real?

When we arrived, the place was already pack. The owner is taking orders while the rest of the people are busy at their own station preparing the patties. One guy is busy preparing the patty while there are some who is doing the ingredients and some packing. Look very organized, like McD.

As you can see, all the workers are wearing plastic gloves, which is very hygienic.

This is how big the each of the patties looked like before it is grilled.

This is how the patties looked like after it's almost done. Delicious~

The patties is prepare with their special marinated sauce which I think is the one inside the bucket. The patties are stacked together when it's ready and being prepared to be served.

Let us look at the menu now. I knew that their burger is not cheap but you need to see it to believe it. Me and my friend decided to go with their Single Cheezy Baconizer. I can't imagine paying RM20+ for a local burger since Carl's Jr is charging that but inclusive of drinks and fries. Anyway, we don't judge a burger before tasting it anyway. So we got our number and the boss told us that we need to wait 1.5 hours for it. OMG~! My friend told me it's OK and we decided to wait for it and chat our way through.

After one hour of waiting our grill burger finally arrived. We were given the wrong burger actually. As you can see, the burger come together with 3 pieces of hotdogs. I asked the boss and found out that it's a set menu. He said it was their fault and we don't have to pay extra for it. Happy~!! We were rewarded for our long wait it seemed.

I heard that each of the patty weight 175gm. When we take a look at the patty, it's really thick and juicy. The melted cheese on top of the patty and hotdog was such a sight for both of us. The only remarks I could give for the burger would be more salads. The burger focuses more on their patty and cheese but not enough vegetables. I mean it's local burger but I think it would help if they try to make it a tit more healthier. Under that bread there's beef bacon on it. I think you can see there's a small red color meat pocking out from that thick layer of cheese on top.

The patty is big and juicy. It's really hard for both of us to sink our teeth into the whole thing. Hence they prepared fork and spoon for us. Actually I like to have my burger by getting my hands dirty but since my friend is not into that, I too don't have the mood to go down and dirty with it. Overall the burger is really filling and delicious. Another thing  that they can improve on would be their bread maybe. I think they can have something better than the one they are using now. Worth the RM11.50 we paid? I won't have it on a daily basis but it's truly something different from our local selections. At least now we have an option for grill burger rather then the usual pan fried.

Hot Dog & Curry Puff @ IKEA & Friends

This is nothing new but I still wanna blog bout this place as I am really into their hot dogs and curry puff. I can still remembered my first curry puff over at Ikea when they just started. We would buy half a dozen or more and just feast on them the whole day. As you can see, even though it's Puasa period, but there are lots of people queuing up for their hot dog and curry puff.

Curry Puff (RM1/piece or RM5.50/6 pieces)
Their curry puff are soft and freshly baked from their oven behind the counter. So it's recommended to take it instantly. Well it's recommended to take any other curry puff instantly anyway. The potatoes inside are soft and juicy together with a small slice of egg. Not bad.

Hot Dog (RM2/piece)
When you bought their hot dog, don't be alarm when it's just the dog and the bun. Don't go running to the counter and ask what happened to the sauce and onions. Their buns are soft and their hot dog are hot (no pun intended) and you are really recommended to take it on the spot.

So where's the ingredient? Well there is a table next to the counter where you can add as much of onions or radish as much as you desires. As not all people wanted onions in their hot dog and wanted tomato sauce rather than chilly. So why make their life difficult? Might as well let us put whatever we like on our hot dog.

Sp this is what my hot dog looks like after the whole garnishing session. I like my hot dog to have a lot of everything. I am a bit pro by now on how to garnish and how much to sprinkle on them. Most of the people would greedily squeeze lots of sauce and onions on them and ended up making themselves difficult when consuming them up.

You can always opt for their set which consists of a refillable carbonated drink with a hot dog for only RM3. Drinks are refillable so it's normal that I share my drinks with my babe. They offer Pepsi, Pepsi Twist, Orange, Strawberry and 7-Up. You can also choose to have coffee which is also refillable for RM3/cup. Previously I would have some light snack before my gym class on Monday night. Queuing up for your food is only part of your worries as you will need to find a place to seat afterward. But again, you can always take away. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Bellygood @ Sunway Mentari

It was my second visit to Bellygood and this time around it was my friends who wanted to try it out after some good reviews from my previous post. So 7 of us arrived after gym on a Friday night and luckily there wasn't much people when we arrived.

This is one of the recommended dish of the place which is their Mixed Platter which is served with Coleslaw and Mash Potatoes at the side. It come with both grilled pork belly and also pork ribs served under their House special rib & belly sauce. This dish is totally your best choice if you wanted to try both their pork belly and baby ribs. (RM23.90)

This is the Grilled Pork Belly with Original Sauce served with Coleslaw and Mash Potatoes. It depends if you like the scent taste of pork or not. As the taste of pork are rather strong with the original sauce compared to the Spicy sauce below. Coleslaw are fresh and the mash potatoes are rough and I think they added something in it which tasted really nice. (RM21.90)

This is the Grilled Pork Belly with Spicy sauce served with Mash Potatoes and Coleslaw. The taste on of pork on this piece of belly isn't that strong as it was covered by the spicy sauce. The pork belly for both the dishes are really soft and tender. Truly succulent. (RM21.90)

I wanted to have something light and decided to order their Pulled Pork Burger which also come with French Fries and Coleslaw, just the way I like it. It is braised and roasted pork meat pull apart by hand (hence the name) topped with mayo and minced onions. Nothing much to say on the burger as it was just minced pork with mayo on it. But I was totally full when I finish off the side dishes. (RM12.90)

Last but not least, the Sausages Platter. It come with 4 type of sausages which consists of pork chorizo, pork oriental, spicy Hungarian served with French Fries and Thai chilly sauce. The sausages was really pack and juicy. They might taste the same at one point but it still a very good dish to share among friends. (RM26.90)

Cleansed all the pork down with a pot of Earl Grey as always for me. (RM6.90) The night's dinner was truly fulfilling and everyone was satisfied with their choices. Sat down and chatted till they decided to close for the night and we left a full stomach and thoughts of a second round. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)

Bellygood @ Dataran Mentari

Finally decided to go over Bellygood after some time of delaying. The restaurant is located at Dataran Mentari opposite Yuen Steamboat and in between two steamboat restaurants. This is definitely a place for pork lovers (like me) and the price is on the safe side to.

Ordered a pot of Earl Grey to cleanse our thirst upon arrival. So nice to see that they did supply a pot of brown sugar to go with the pot. Other than teas, they do served wine, imported beers and also juices. (RM 6.90/pot)

To warm up our belly before the main dish, I had ordered their soup of the day which is the mushroom soup. It comes with a slice of garlic bread too. Minced mushroom rather then those can type mushroom which we drink else where. Nice~! (RM 8.30)

I had ordered a started for both of us to share before the main. This is one of the must eat dish in the restaurant, Sausage Platter. There are 4 types of sausages in the platter which consists of grilled pork chorizo, chicken chorizo, pork oriental and spicy Hungarian. It's served with fries (my favourite) and thai chilli sauce. Juicy and nice to bite into. But the taste is a bit too salty for me on the chicken chorizo I think. But the rest was good. (RM 26.90)

This is definitely a must order if you drop by this place. It's one of their house specialty, Grilled Pork Belly. It's succulent grilled pork belly marinated with pekin sauce served with coleslaw (a bit dry and not that cold) and mashed potatoes (no garlic, sad). They do recommend Merlot from Columbia Crest to go with the pork. First bite into the meat and I was amazed. It was so soft and lean at the same time. It's like eating Char Siew the Western style. Since it's pork belly so their practically using the same part as Char Siew. Half lean and half fat, bite by bite, it's so succulent. (RM 21.90 for Regular)

Overall the place do served some really decent and nice food which do not cut deep into your wallet. The total bill only comes to RM73 for all of the above. And they do serve Movenpick ice cream if you want dessert. We were famish at the end of the meal. Definitely will be going back again to try out their other dishes like the Grilled Pork Chop and Grilled Pork Ribs. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
