Sabi Wasabi @ Bukit Tinggi

It was Friday and I'd decided to give babe a surprised and picked her up for lunch at Klang. She decided to have Japanese cuisine and recommended this place to me. She had tried it out with a friend few weeks back and highly recommended to me. Her wish is my command and we arrived within minutes from her house. It's located directly opposite Aeon Bukit Tinggi. It's called Sabi-Wasabi. It's the same row with Pappa Rich and all green outside, so you can't miss it.

Salmon Hana Maki - RM8.88
It's basically salmon with fish eggs. And plenty of it (fish eggs) too. I just wanna clarify that all of their sushi are prepared when ordered right in front of you. So the sushi are really fresh and the fish eggs are so attractive if you like eating it.

Maguro - RM4.99 / 3 pcs
For those who doesn't know, Maguro is Japanese term for bluefin tuna. Other than salmon, tuna is the other commonly used dish for any sushi roll. The maguro is thick and fresh over here. You can see it from the color.

Inari Soft Shell - RM8.88/4pcs
I had specifically ordered this when I saw it in their menu. Soft shell crab, who doesn't like them? It's so crunchy when I sink my teeth into the roll. The mayo added some taste to the soft shell too. Highly recommended from me.

Yaki Gyoza - RM10/ 5pcs
I am such a fool for pan fried dumplings. You can choose pan fried, deep fried or soup for the Gyoza. The outer skin is so soft and not thick at all. Since it's freshly prepared, the dumplings are still warm which is really important. Size are small but it's alright with me. No point having a large dumpling but don't taste that good.

Saba Shioyaki - RM18/plate
They have a few type of fish to choose from in their menu and we landed ourselves with mackerel. It's just plain mackerel being bathed in salt and then grilled. Squeeze a bit lemon and it's all ready to go. Not too charred and the fish are soft and tender. Not bad.

Yaki Tori & Ton-Bara Enoki Maki - RM3.50 & RM4.00/stick
The one on the left would be chicken skewer and the right is straw mushroom roll in sliced pork. I preferred the pork skewer as it's so tender and the sauce that comes with it really compliment the whole roll. Nothing much special on the chicken skewer, just a normal chicken with sauce.

Ton-Tama - RM4.00/stick
This is recommended by the waitress, which is their pork wrapped with omelet. I am not sure what is so special bout this stick, but it's just normal pork sausage being wrapped with omelet to me.

Karaage Toji Don - RM16/bowl
Last but not least, I had ordered one of their rice set as I wasn't full from the whole course. This is deep fried marinated chicken with scrambled egg. This is not too recommended from me as it's a bit flat on the taste. Chicken isn't that much too. But since I was hungry, I had finished it off and that is the end of it.

Overall, the place do serve some real fresh sushi but for the price you're paying, it's still alright with me. I know, some will compare to Sake or Sushi Tei but this place do have some other dishes in their menu which I haven't tried out yet. Will I return? Maybe, if babe requested it again. Will I recommend it? Well, if you are willing to pay RM9 for a plate of Salmon Maki or Soft Shell. (Rating: 3.5 out of 5.0)

Honkee Porridge @ Damansara Utama

First I have to apologized for my disappearing act this past week as I was away oversea. Now let's get back to the food. I am not into porridge that much but I am such a sucker for my grandma's home made porridge. I am only into Hokkien style which is thick and not those Cantonese style with a lot of water. Anyway, the place I am introducing is located at Uptown, Damansara. It's called Honkee Porridge. To be frank, if it's not my friend who recommended it at the first place, I won't be walking into this restaurant. The owner has a long history which takes back to 1949.

Fried Crullers - RM1/piece
We had ordered 3 pieces of crullers but it wasn't as warm or hot as I expect it to be. But still, I am a sucker for crullers. I like to crullers no matter it's hot or cold.

Fried Intestines - RM3
No, I didn't ordered this and I am not into any type of intestines or rather 'spare parts'. My mom once told me that I would eat anything which is fried and now I can tell her, she's wrong. I am not eating this. But one of my friend was so into this. I'd tried one and it's crunchy and not as bad as I thought. But anyhow, I won't order this on my own.

Century Egg - RM1.50
Who is not into century eggs right? Well, I wasn't into them until I had my box set from Shih Lin. And now I am so into them. This is freshly peeled and served to us. Nice~!

Raw Fish - RM6.50 (with porridge)
This is one of their house specialty, which is their raw fish with porridge. They will give you a plate of raw fish and one hot bowl of porridge. You will place the raw fish into the porridge and let it get cook. If you like fish, this is really one good porridge.

Porridge with Minced Pork & Century Egg - RM6.50
I had ordered this as I can't live without pork. Just kidding. But I really like eating my porridge with either sliced chicken or pork. The porridge is thick as I like it but the minced pork is a bit stingy.

Overall, we had a filling supper and all of us are satisfied with our bowl of porridge. They have this fresh Australia or NZ Salmon too that you can order. So if you are around the area and wanted something plain but still tasted good, you can drop by this place and give it a try. Let me know what you think of this place.

Loong Kee (BKT) @ Bayu Tinggi, Klang

I am always in search of new Bak Kut Teh (BKT) in the city and tonight the search ended up at BKT central, which is Klang. Babe wanted to have BKT for dinner and she mentioned that there are a lot of new BKT and also other seafood restaurants being setup at Bayu Tinggi. So we drove over and roamed around the area and decided to try this particular restaurant as it offers string tied BKT. What's so good bout it? To be frank, I don't know. But just stick around and read on if you are a BKT enthusiast like me.
First on the list would be their soup BKT which has the usual ingredients like Foo Chuk, Veges, Mushrooms and I had particularly ordered for half lean half fat for both the pot and that is what I got. As we go through the pot we discovered that there are a pair of chicken feet. Yup, you heard me right, chicken feet. This is the first time I saw any chicken parts in my BKT. Babe told me that chicken feet are sometimes served together at some old stalls as it's very old school style. If you like thick dark soy sauce soup, then this is your bowl of soup. Not much herbal taste but just original Klang style thick soy sauce soup. Well I can live with that.

I had ordered the pork with the tied string on my dry BKT. But when it arrived, I don't see any pork with tie on them anywhere. I guess it's already untied before serving for convenience sake. So how is the dish? Damn this is one good dry BKT. Been a while since I had a good dry BKT. There's lots of lady finger, dried chilies, fried sliced squid and if you see carefully you noticed there's some peanut in the pot. Yes, peanut. Damn this place served some really interesting BKT. But it's good. The pork are a bit minced but it's really tender and don't stick to the teeth. Soy sauce is thick and smells really good. Portion was a bit small but it worth it.
As usual, all meat and no green is not my policy. So I had ordered a plate of veges to go with the BKT. Veges is fresh and not too oily. Just nice. Nothing spectacular to say bout it but simple & nice.

The whole meal only cost us RM27 inclusive of two glass of self-cooked Chrysanthemum tea. Will definitely bring some friends and family over to try it out again. Other than BKT, they also served steamed fish and also bean curd. Will try out the steamed fish but I don't really fancy steamed fish with my BKT together. (Rating: 4.3 out of 5.0)
