OK as promised, I had went over to this place called Granma's Kitchen and have a try of their food. Their concept are more towards family dishes rather than single dish. So it's not that ideal if I wanted to have lunch over at this place. As the varieties isn't that much compared to Asia Food across the street. But anyhow its comfy and nice for family and friends to dine in. So I had browsed through their menu and decided to tried their Tom Yam Fried Rice. They asked if I wanted to add an egg. So I say why not. And this is what I got. Plain simple fried rice with egg on top. Wasn't as fancy as I imagine it would be. Taste was normal. Had to add a lot of chilly on it. The price wasn't that cheap also.Romiko had ordered their Vege-Dumpling Noodle Soup. The dumpling was quite large but the taste of the soup was a bit like maggie with MSG to me. Maybe cause I don't fancy soup noodle that much. Remembered someone told me their Siow Long Bao was nice, so I had ordered it as a side dish. Well not bad but it's definitely uncomparable with Dragon-I. lol~! It's not cheap also but not bad. (RM 7.90 for 5pcs)
All together the place do serve nice food but maybe my expectation was too high as I was recommended by someone whose similar to me, like to eat a lot. Maybe their other dishes taste better. It's a good place for dinner but not a good place for a quikc lunch. Well I don't know but need to try. Will I be back? Only if someone is buying me dinner though. lol~! (Rating: 3.5 out of 5.0)

Stumble upon this place while I was driving through the square looking for a place for lunch this week. The place was quite nicely decorated with a mixture of Japanese and Taiwan decorations. Since it was a hot day and the place was air condition, well why not?
For me, I had ordered their Fried Teppanyaki Chicken set. The set as shown above comes with a soup and also some side dishes (stewed egg and bean curd) and vegetables. The chicken was alright. The rice is Japanese rice and not the normal rice. So the dish was quite filling too. (RM8.90)
Since it was that good on the first day, we came back for second the next day. This time around we wanted to try their snacks. So we had ordered this Crispy Chicken. As the name goes, the chicken was really crispy as it mixed with some chicken skin to fried. Quite nice. (RM6.60)
For the first day we had ordered their Famous Beef Noodle. My friend got the beef scent when she step into the place. So it should be good. And good was the dish really turned out to be. The portion was just nice and the there's a lot of beef too. The beef was really tender and not too hard. Soup was also nice. (RM8.90)

Next we ordered their Stewed Pork Set. It was really nice as the pork was really tender and soft. The sauce was just nice, not too sweet. The pork is a mixture of thin and fat which is the best combination of stewed pork. (RM8.90)
As for me, I had ordered their Lemon Grass Chicken Set. For this set, they specifically told me that I needed to wait for 15 minutes as they need to marinate the chicken and fried it fresh. And it's quite well worth the wait. The chicken was just nice and not to salty. My set comes with the same side dish as the previous one. (RM9.90)
Not bad for a lunch which normally cost the same for me. Service was good and it's air condition like I mentioned. They do served Korean Kimchi dishes, Japanese and bubble tea too. But I heard that I can get cheaper from another shop nearby called Granny Shop or some sort. So it's my next destination next week. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Sunway Resort Convention Centre - Sunway
This is my first visit to the Sunway Convention Centre for my friend's wedding dinner. I don't have high expectation for hotel food but I was quite satisfied with their food and also service overhere.
The service was something to brag about too. As the waiters were foreigner workers but they are very professional and very fast to changed and clean the table for us. It's really a nice place to held your dinner but we did encountered the management staff and had some minor arguments with them on some preparation of the main entrance. But nevertheless the food was good.
The first dish was the Sunway Golden Four Season Platter. The top was the Peking Duck Rolls, bottom was the abalone, right was the prawn paste and the left was some sort of Yam pudding. The dish was not bad. There were only 6 people in my table and we managed to finished almost all the dishes. This is the Golden Shark's Fin Soup with Fungus, Crab Meat and Roe. You can really see a lot of shark fin and even in some large pieces inside the soup. Really a nice dish. And it's not that starch too. I had 5 bowls of this. lol~!
The third was the Steamed River Patin with Crispy Minced Ginger and Garlic n Soya Sauce. One of the best dish of the night but I didn't managed to take a picture as I was on stage at that time. But I did managed to eat a lot of the fish as it's really fresh and the meat was really soft and the sauce was just nice. Nothing was left when the cleared the plate. lol~!
Next comes the Roasted Indonesian Style Chicken with Prawn Crackers. This was the first time I had this type of chicken in a wedding. And it didn't disappoints me. It's some sort of roasted rendang chicken and the taste of rendang sauce on the chicken was really nice and different. We finished the whole plate too. Wok Fried Tiger Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk. Another good dish on the table. I ate almost 8 pieces of prawn alone that night. For those who knows me, I don't really fancy taking off the shells but it was that nice that I go the extra mile. But we didn't managed to finished it off as it was too much for the 6 of us.
Next was the Stewed Two Variety Mushroom with Fresh Bean Curd. This dish wasn't that bad either. The dish was still warm when they brought it in and the sauce was really nice together with the mushrooms and bean curd. How can a wedding dinner without fried rice. So here's the Golden Fried Rice with Garlic and Roasted Duck. Atleast it wasn't some glutinous rice that other dinner offered. It wasn't that bad either, as the rice was soft and hot. There are a lot of small crunchy anchovies on top of it.
Here's the first dessert of the night. This is not something you see every night. Well for me atleast. It's called Chilled Mangoes Cream with Sago and Vanilla Ice Cream. The dessert was quite creamy but just nice. There's a big block of vanilla ice cream to go with it. Sweet~!
Last but not least, the Baked Lotus Flower Puff and Snow Skin Golden Fish. This was just part of the dish which I took out. Yes, the fish on the left was filled with peanuts and the flower was filled with lotus paste. The fish was cold and the flower was hot, nice combination. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Riverview Seafood - Klang
The group had decided to have a makan session last Friday as we're not going to gym that night. So at the end we decided to eat at this place called Riverview Seafood in Klang. You really have to drive into the estate jungle to find this place and it's around 5km from the main road.
For the first dish we had ordered their Fried Mee Hoon with Lala. Well it looks good and it tasted not bad either. So we thought that the rest should be the same.
So the next dish was the Fried Calamari. The calamari was OK but we requested some special sauce for the dipping compared to the normal chilly sauce that we eat at home. But sadly they don't have and we have to stick with the sauce.
Thirdly was the vegetable. It was one of the highlight of the night as it's really crunchy and fresh. But at the end of the dish we found some undissolved starch with some of the vegetable which was quite gross. Next was the Fried Mantis Prawn in Butter Milk. Well it looks nice when they present it. But the mantis prawn was really loose and the only reason was that they had stored the prawn in cold storage for some time. Hence the meat not that packed and crunchy. There wasn't any butter scent or smell in the dish too. So it's quite disappointing at the end for all of us.
This is the Salted Chicken in Claypot. The taste in reality was totally the opposite of the name of the dish. It's not even salty and there wasn't much taste in the chicken either. Was a let down. Finally the main dish which was the Kam Heong Crab (1KG). This is the first time that encountered such experience eating crab where the meat was too soft like fish. So it lost the texture of a crab meat should have. We had all speculated why is it this way. Not fresh? Cannot be, as the whole dish will stink if it so. Over cooked? Under cooked?
All together the whole dinner was quite disappointing as we're not that full but there are food left on the table. This was one of the first time that we couldn't finished off the crab. The whole meal cost us RM117. A bit expensive for me for the poor quality of the food. (Rating: 3.0 out of 5.0)

Pick n Brew - Glenmarie Shah Alam (2nd Visit)
This is my second attempt at Pick n Brew. Well not to say attempt but rather luck. lol~! I was there exactly 6 months ago. See here. This time around I am determine to try out their food and house coffee. Since someone is buying me lunch today, just makan la. lol~!
I had ordered their Penne Carbonara served with beef bacon. I can't changed the pasta so might as well just go with it. I don't fancy penne that much but no choice. Surprisingly the pasta wasn't that bad. In fact it's quite nice and decent. Presentation wise, above average. (RM18)

They even gave me the mozarella cheese separately. This is good as I can add as much as I like. Well OK, I added all into the pasta at the end.
My friend tried the pasta before so she ordered their Nasi Kerabu which is authentic Malay rice salad served with chili lemongrass chicken and crackers. Seemed nice and I saw quite a few people ordered this dish. They sered the chicken with Satey's sauce on top. For me it's just OK. But then again we don't really expect authentic Malay food in here do we?! (RM17)
Before going into the coffee, let me introduce what they served overthere. They have Colombia, Brazil, Kenya, Sumatra and Indonesia coffee. Which then divided into three category of Vibrant, Inspirational and Passionate. I've choose Infinitude (Passionate) which is basically a mixture of Kenya + Brazil + Colombia coffee. It's a balanced cup of nutty aroma complemented with notes of wine and chocolate. Can't really tell the difference from the coffee I had from Starbuck but it smells good. (RM10) (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Sushi Zanmai - 1Utama
Wanted to try out this place for quite some time but seemed that the place was always packed and a long queue during the weekends. So I was determined to go over today during lunch with a friend to try out luck. Yes, there's no queue but the place is full. Lucky~! The place I am talking about is called Sushi Zanmai at 1Utama.
For the main dish, I had ordered their ChickenKatsuDon which is their Cold Udon with Fried Chicken. For those who like Cold Udon, this is not bad at all. The chicken was really nice and crunchy too. I ordered the small portion but seemed quite alot too. (RM8)
My friend had ordered the Chicken Katsu with Rice. It's basically Chicken Katsu served with rice, onions, eggs and mushrooms. Quite nice a filling dish. It's also a small portion but seemed quite large. (RM8)
So what do I think of the place? Environment is nice and the table on the Kentai Belt was really spacious and sufficient to place all the plates and main dishes. So it's not that cramped like the other sushi outlet. Price is really reasonable and not that expensive. Presentation of food is above average and the taste is also above average. I am not sure of the service and the food quality on weekends though when the place is packed. Well worth my trip over and a return visit too. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)

Piccadilly Restaurant - Millenium Tower
It was Saturday night and the rain was still pouring down like cats and dogs. We had dinner with Romiko's school mates last night. It's a post birthday dinner for her. So after some ding dong here and there, we ended up at a place called Piccadilly Restaurant at Millennium Tower. It's in Seksyen 14 in PJ somewhere behind the old abandon Cold Storage. Need to say that this is not my first visit here as I had been here since the first day they had opened 2 years back or so. But he place had changed a lot with some additional menu at the place. My eyes were going up and down when I looked at the menu which are filled with a lot of type of foods. For starter I had ordered their Cream Soup with Garlic Bread. The looked was not bad. Soup was definitely from a can of Campell soup. It's too watery. They added too much water to the soup. Garlic bread was really nice with a lot of butter and garlic but it's very soft. Maybe it's pre-prepared quite some time ago. (RM3)
At the end I had decided to have a Fettuccine Cabonara with Turkey Ham. The outlook was quite alright. Cream not that thick but still decent. Scent of cheese was a bit weird. I am not sure what type of cheese did that used. Turkey was tender and not dry. Pasta was cooked to perfection and not that hard. But overall it's just so so. There's a scent in the pasta which I can't describe, I think it's the cheese. I am not sure. (RM11)As for Romiko she had decided on their Grilled Chicken Chop with Black Pepper Sauce. The chicken was not bad and it's very tender. The sauce was normal. Coleslaw was really thick and nice. Fries is fried fresh when ordered so it's still hot. (RM8.80)
Before we entered the place we saw this Chicken Tandoori on the outside menu and it's so cheap and looked so delicious. So we decided to order one and try it out. To our surprised, it's not bad at all. The chicken was really soft and tender. The curry scent was just right with the mint curry at the side. Yes, that super green color thingy is the mint.(RM5)
What a filling dinner we had. The place was almost full at around 10pm and the place served beers too. So it's suitable for happy hour also. The music is nice and the price is really reasonable also. Wide range of varieties to choose, from Ulu Yam Loh Mee to Italian Pasta to Local Nasi Lemak to India Roti Naan and lots more. So don't worry if the place serve what type of food. You just worry what food to order when you saw the menu. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
