Restaurant Hainan Curry Rice - Klang Bukit Tinggi

It's a Friday afternoon and I went down to Klang to take my lunch after an appointment at Meru. The place is called Restaurant Hainan Curry Rice. It's located at Bukit Tinggi, Klang. I forgot the exact address but it's the same row at Little Bali if you all know the square in Bkt Tinggi. Anyway, I had ate in this restaurant for god so many times. Cause they served one of the best Char Siew around the area. So let me go through the menu for the day.

I had ordered the usual Hainanese food that I normally eat. There is a lot more that they offer but this is what I recommend. Or rather what I like to eat .. hehe!! :) The first is the curry rice (duh!!). The normality is for the curry to be poured onto the white rice. Which I like a lot. hehe!

Than I will order the Char Siew and also the Spring Roll. Their Char Siew is not the usual one that we eat. As it's Hainan style Char Siew, it's fried and not roast. The crunchy sensation of the pork is very appetizing. It's not too dry and not too fattening also. So u must choose wisely when u order. As for the Spring Roll, it's also a must in the menu for me as it's very packed and also juicy. It's not the normal fried oily type but rather packed with it's essence of pork inside.

Than there is the Cabbage. The white cabbage. It's very plain but it's the essential in the Hainan dish. It's fresh and also crunchy to eat together with the curry rice.

There is also the Curry Mutton which is so tender and sweet. The smell of curry is just right and there is no smell of the mutton which normally the meat will produce.

Lastly you must order the Pig's Blood and Intestine's Soup. It's a bit spicy and it's very tasty too for those who love pig's blood that is.

For drink, what else but Hainan Coffee. hehe! You can have it hot or cold. But who in hell drink a cold hainan coffee? heck if I care... haha!!!! The damage for two person, less than RM 20.00. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0).

Restaurant Tua Huat @ Jalan 19

It was a bright Sunday afternoon and I just got back from my hometown. It's around 4.30pm and I was wondering if this place will be opening today. As it's the 2nd day of Raya and all. Than I looked at the back of the name card and it read "Public Holiday Open 7 Days". So what the hell, I drove down to Jalan 19 and went over to eat the Loh Mee. The place is called Restaurant Tua Huat and the address is 50G, Jalan 19/3. It's the same row as Nanking Restaurant after the BAT roundabout.

Their specialty is their Loh Mee. So I straight away ordered the Loh Mee and also their Fish Cake and Spring Roll. Their Loh Mee is said to be similar to the one located in Ulu Yam. But since I never had the chance to go over and try. So I just take my colleague's word for it. The Loh Mee is looks very delicious and hot. The color is darker than the one that we usually ate outside. As they had added a lot of vinegar onto the noodle. So for those who can eat a lot of vinegar, than this is the dish for you.

The smell is so nice and the taste of the mee is so refreshing. This might be the amount of vinegar that they poured in and also the fried lard that they put into the soup. You can even bite so of the small fried lard in the noodle. damn cun ~~~!!! Than I had ordered the Fish Cake which to me was just so so. This is because I don't really like to eat fish cake at all. haha! The Spring Roll was really nice. For those who dun like the fish cake (like me) than you can try the spring roll. It's all freshly fried when you ordered.

The price for the noodle (small) is RM 5.00, (medium) RM 9.00 and (large) RM 12.00. The parang fish cake cost around RM 4.00 while the Spring Roll (per roll) is RM 8.00. (Rating : 4.0 out of 5.0)

Shi Ling Taiwan Snack - 1Utama

This had been one of my favourite Taiwan snack stall in many years. I can’t really remembered when was the first time I tried it but it does leave a really good impression in me. Where is the place you asked? The place is called Shi Ling in 1Utama, Old Wing. Around TGV cinema. Normally u can see a long queue starting from this half a store stall.

OK, back to the menu. They served 4 main dishes over there. The most famous is their Crispy Fried Chicken. The second is the all time favourite, Oyster Mee Sua a.k.a O Wa Mee Sua. The other is their Fried Tempura and also Chicken Floss Roll. For drinks they only served mineral water and Soy bean in a bottle. All the food cost exactly RM 5.50 and the drinks RM 2.00 per bottle.

The fried chicken is not the normal fried chicken that we all eat at our local pasar malam. The most common one is the Uncle Bob Fried Chicken. Physically it looked the same but once you had a bit in it, it taste totally different. It’s spicy and also a bit sticky. I can’t explained it though but it's just different. It felt like a bit sticky and not the normal flour that we all used. Don't get me wrong, there is still flour in the chicken.

Than the Oyster Mee Sua. What so special you asked? Well for one, the mee sua can be cooked the whole day and still taste so good and soft. This is because their Mee Sua is imported from Taiwan and not the normal Mee Sua that we all eat at home. Where the mee will go all goes once it’s over-cooked. The gravy is just nice with a bit spice from the chilly paste that they put in by your request.

The fried tempura is also nice as it is all well fresh prepared. You can still taste the fish taste in it I guess. But it’s just OK for me. As for the rolls. I can’t say much as I haven’t tried it out. But from my source, it’s really nice too. Maybe some of you can try it out and let me know. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)
