Restaurant Yip Weng @ Bandar Puteri (3rd Branch)

I was going over to Thirty Two Bistro last Friday night and I happened to noticed that there was a new restaurant which catch my attention. Restaurant Bak Kut Teh Klang Yip Weng. Yip Weng's BKT could be one of the best I had ever had. I am so into their dry BKT and I heard that they served one of the first of it's kind too. I had ordered their set meal which is for 2 ~ 3 pax. It consists of one bowl of dry & wet BKT, vegetable, golden mushroom and two glasses of Chinese tea. The whole set cost RM25.

I doesn't have high hope on the wet BKT as I am very fussy of the taste and scent of the soup. I was really taken aback when I sipped in the soup. It was really thick and the taste of herbs was really strong, just the way I like it. The pork was tender and I had ordered half lean half fat for both the bowl.

This is the main dish or the one which I am waiting for. I really have high hope for their Dry BKT. As their branch at Taman Sentose served the best Dry BKT I had ever had. And it didn't disappoint me at all. There were a lot of sliced lady finger and fried squids in it which is very appetizing. Portion was really generous which I was really surprised. One word, superb. Really on par with the one from Taman Sentosa.

I am not sure why they separate the golden mushroom with the main bowl, but anyway it come with the menu. It's soft and plenty too.

They have a few choices of vegetable to order and I had choose their Yau Mak. My gosh, the portion was really large. The vegetable was fresh and there were a lot of onions on top which I really love.

The place had just opened for operation for two weeks and customers had already been pouring in. For a location which is still new and the amount of traffic over the location, business was really good. I'd just realized that they have another branch in Kepong and PJ but didn't managed to know where is the exact location though. This is definitely one of the best BKT I had to date. So in the future, I don't have to drive all the way down Sentosa for a good bowl of BKT. (Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0)

Tian Pin Ge Ge @ Kepong (2nd Visit)

This is my second visit to this place. It was because my friend's gf wanted to have some dessert after our rendezvous at Petaling Street. The place is located behind HSBC after you pass by Carrefour on your right.

Babe again ordered their Mango Rolls. It is as good as the first time we taste it. Cold and nice. Not too sweet but just nice. (RM8)

This is their Pomelo and Sago in Mango sweet soup with ice-cream. The combination of the slight bitter of pomelo and the sweet mango and ice cold ice cream was just nice. (RM10)

This is the Mango Glutinous Rice Rolls which supposed to be cold in the inside while the glutinous outside wrapping it should be warm. It wasn't that cold this time around but still a nice dessert as the mango was fresh. (RM7)

I forgot the exact name but it's actually some sort of coconut pudding. This is really nice as the texture isn't that soft and not that hard but just nice. And it's not that sweet too but still maintaining the taste of the coconut.

Last but not least one of my favourite dessert over there, which is a combination of Black Pearl Sago with Mango, Banana and Longan with grape seeds. After tasting this dessert, you won't be tasting the other dessert anymore as it's so full of sweetness. A bit filling for me. (RM12)

Restaurant Kim Lian Kee @ Jalan Petaling

I wanted to go to Petaling Street to look around as it has been few months since I was there. Babe was hungry so I had decided to go eat Hokkien Noodle at Kim Lian Kee which is located at the heart of Petaling Street or to be exact the cross road. I think most of the people should have eat here before or at least heard of this place before this.

I had waited for about 10 minutes before getting a table and it was just 7.30pm. What a small world as I was eating half way, I saw MD. Small small world. And he was looking for a table at that time, so we shared. Sharing is caring right.

The belacan here is really nice and is not that spicy too. Add a pinch of lemon into it and it's perfect.

So this is the main course of the night, Hokkien Noodle. I had ordered their Hokkien Noodle mix with vermicelli. Hence the whole dish was a bit dryer than the normal Hokkien we ate else where. I like my Hokkien noodle to be dry and not black. But still, Ah Wa Hokkien noodle is still the best.

This is the pork with cabbage soup which my friend had ordered. The special part is that the sliced pork is dipped with flour and then boil in hot water. So the meat is a bit spongy or tangy when you bite on it.

This is the Sing Chow Mai or Fried Vermicelli with eggs, minced pork, onions and bean sprout. The dish came 30minutes late but it's surprisingly nice.

Word of advice when you order your food, Hokkien noodle is their best seller, so you won't have to wait long for the food to be serve. If you wanted something else like what I ordered, you will need to prepare to wait for it. They are also famous for their Loh Mee, Yin Yong and also Kon Chow Hor. Extra lard is on request but it's chargeable. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)

Thirty Two Bistro & Bar @ Bandar Puteri

I have always wanted to blog bout this place but didn't have the time to go over and the occasion. One of my friend was leaving and I thought of making the farewell dinner at this place. Which was a good choice. It is located at the new area at Bandar Puteri behind Public Bank.

The place is divided into two section where the ground floor caters for light beverages and food like a bistro hence the name. While the top floor is a pub which is accompanied with some pop music and a bar counter.

The place ambiance of the place is cozy and nice to have a chat with friend and also having some good food while drinking down some fine wine. Yes they served some really good red wine over here.

I like the bread which they served with olive & oil. The bread was so soft and the olive was really appetizing.

This is the beef burger which my friend ordered. It's char grilled beef patties, beef bacon, slice melted cheddar cheese serve with french fries and seasoning. This is one hell of a beef burger. It's really large and worth the price you're paying and the taste is the same too. Melted cheddar cheese on the beef patties, what a sight. (RM16)

Sweet Hot Dog. I am not sure why they name it that but it's one hell of a long hot dog. My friend quickly chopped off the hot dog as she think it's a bit eerie. But nevertheless, the hot dog is juicy and it's topped with salted onions and mayo accompanied with wedges on the side and some salad. This is a good choice for some light eating.

This is the Fettuccine Carbonara with Smoke Chicken Ham and Crispy Bacon which I had ordered. Portion was a bit stingy but at least it tasted really nice. Well not the best I had but still it's above average. It's really creamy and the ham was aplenty. (RM22)

Babe had ordered their Chicken n Chip with Citrus Mayo. Yes, we heard of Fish n Chip and they have this Chicken n Chip over here. It's the same concept but they replace the fish with chicken. The chicken was slice thin for the texture but nevertheless there were 4 slices of it which is a lot. The dish is served together with salad and french fries. (RM 20)

This is the Chicken Burger which is char grilled chicken breast topped with chicken ham, sliced melted cheddar cheese serve with french fries. All the fries are freshly fried which I like about this place. The salad was fresh so it's really crunchy. (RM16)

The place boost the finest wine in town from what the owner mentioned. They also supplies the best cigars in town. The price are lower than the one that you're paying in KL but you're having the same quality of wine and cigar. This is definitely a place to hang out and having some nice chat and if you're feeling a bit 'high' that day, you can always go to the 1st floor for some music and entertainment. The owner even do card tricks on Wed & Fri for PR purposes which I think it's great. They are in the midst of changing their menu so be patient with them if some of the food isn't available from the menu. They are also having some set lunch from RM23++ if you're around the area for some food. (Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0)

Upekka Cove @ SS17

It was a hot Friday afternoon and I decided to try out this place which I saw in the paper last week. The place is called Upekka Cove which is located at the secluded housing area close to Happy Mansion.

I had decided to give their set lunch a try. It comes with a choice of either Mushroom or Chicken Soup. I had choose the Mushroom soup which I heard was good and it was true. It was thick and full of minced mushroom with bread crumbs on top. The set come with a drink which you can choose between Ice Lemon Tea, Green Tea or Barley.

For my main, I had ordered their Fish & Chip. It is served with coleslaw and french fries. I like the tartar sauce for dipping. The fish was fresh & crispy. Portion was generous too. Definitely a good plate of fish for me. (RM13.90/Set)

This is the Facon Chasseur which is stewed chicken with mushrooms & shallot in brown sauce served with mash potatoes. I like this dish as the sauce was really nice and there were a lot of mushroom on it. (RM13.90/Set)

My friend had ordered the Upekka Grilled Chicken. The dish is topped with garlic & tomatoes sauce & served with mash potatoes. The sauce was a bit plain compared to the previous one but still the chicken was grilled to perfection. Well I say, give some, take some. (RM13.90/Set)

The place also have free WiFi if you wanted to surf the net while having your lunch or while chilling out with your friends. Other than western food they also serve local Asian foods like Fried Rice, Tom Yam Soup and fried noodles. I will be back again to try out their home made beef burger which I saw was really juicy and delicious. (Rating: 3.8 out of 5.0)
